RINA is currently recruiting for a South East Asia - E&S Consulting Project Manager to join its office in Vietnam within the ESG and Sustainability Project Management Division.
Mission
The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and executing projects, supporting project teams, and serving as a key contact between the company, staff, and subcontractors to ensure timely and successful project delivery. This role focuses on medium- to high-value projects, ensuring execution aligns with company objectives and schedules. The ideal candidate will manage environmental studies, environmental monitoring and modeling, compliance assessments, due diligence, and audits to evaluate compliance with Italian and European regulations and Project Financing standards in Environmental and Social fields.
Key Accountabilities
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
• Serve as a primary contact for client communication, supporting expectation management and trust building.
• Provide clear progress updates and risk assessments to clients and stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication between project teams and leadership to maintain alignment.
Proposal Management
• Work closely with the Discipline’s team members, especially with the appointed Technical Coordinator/ Technical Engineer in each opportunity/ proposal/tender regarding the scope of work, technical methodology, and delivery plan.
• Coordinate with the relevant teams (Legal Counsel, Tender, Procurement, Business Support, etc.) regarding RINA’s internal processes during the proposal process.
• Timely prepare and follow up with offer budget approval request, ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
Project Execution:
• Support definition of project objectives, scope, and deliverables, contributing to the project execution roadmap.
• Coordinate resources, timelines, and activities across teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Monitor project progress, resolve operational issues, and keep project leads informed.
Resource Management:
• Collaborate with department leads to secure resources as needed.
• Track resource utilization and flag risks of overload or support needs for discussion with relevant teams.
Financial Oversight:
• Support monitoring of project budgets and analyze financial performance.
• Contribute to preparation of financial reports and forecasts.
• Identify potential cost variances and support corrective actions to maintain profitability.
Risk and Quality Management:
• Support risk identification, prioritization, and mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Help ensure quality standards by participating in control checks and reviews.
• Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions when issues arise.
Supervision and Guidance:
• Work independently on assigned tasks while escalating complex issues when needed.
• Share learnings and good practices with junior team members.
• Contribute to a supportive and collaborative project team environment.
Qualifications
• Master's Degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in an engineering or technical role within a project environment, preferably with exposure to cross-functional teamwork and clients such as International Development Financial Institutions (DFIs), Commercial Banks, and Export Credit Agencies (ECAs).
• Solid understanding of project management methodologies, with ability to adapt tools and approaches based on project needs.
• Strong skills in managing schedules, resources, and budgets.
• Knowledge of project lifecycle management, including requirements gathering, risk management, quality control, and change management.
• Previous experience with Environmental and Social Lenders Compliance projects; familiarity with IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and ADB Safeguard Policy Statements/ Environmental and Social Framework.
• Proficiency in working with contracts, client communication, and vendor coordination (English is a must).
