RINA is currently recruiting for a Germany Stability Plan Approval Senior Engineer to join its office in Germany within the North Europe Marine Division.

Mission

This role focuses on supporting the elaboration of detailed plan and design reviews, resolving issues related to
conflicting design requirements, ensuring client requirements and applicable standards are met. Projects could
include the approval of new building, conversion, and existing vessels and yachts.

Key Accountabilities

  • Review and approve load line assignments, intact & damage stability booklets, inclining tests, loading
    software etc, in compliance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations, for new buildings, ships in service,
    and ship conversions.
  • Assist clients during the design and construction phase, providing guidance and support related to the tasks
    assigned.
  • Provide support in conducting detailed marine engineering plan reviews, ensuring compliance with
    applicable RINA rules, international conventions, and contractual requirements.
  • Provide support for the resolution of issues related to conflicting design requirements and material
    standards.
  • Provide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements, within office and at client’s premises
    when needed.
  • Understand and apply project management concepts providing feedback to project manager and serving as
    point of reference for the escalation of issues.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering General

Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • Master’s Degree in Naval Architecture.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in ship stability analysis, preferably within an IACS class society,
      shipbuilding, or maritime consultancy.
    • In-depth knowledge of stability regulations, including IMO codes, classification society rules, and
      international maritime safety conventions related to ship stability.
    • Expertise in stability calculations, including intact stability, damage stability (probabilistic and deterministic),
      using respective software and engineering tools. Experience with PAX ships, HSC Code, ES-TRIN and
      NAPA will be considered a plus.
    • Fluent in German and English (speaking and writing).
    • Proficiency in reviewing and approving stability documentation, ensuring ships meet regulatory requirements
      and classification standards.
    • Ability to work in multi-national, multi-disciplinary teams (internal and external).
    • Strong communication and reporting skills.
    • Proficient with MS Office tools.
    • Holding an EU work and residence permit is preferred.
