RINA is currently recruiting for a Germany Senior Machinery Plan Approval Engineer to join its office in Germany within the North Europe Marine Division.

Mission

This role focuses on performing detailed plan and design reviews, certification of marine machinery systems, resolving issues related to conflicting design requirements, ensuring client requirements and applicable rules/standards are met.

Projects could include the approval of new building, conversion, and existing vessels and yachts.

Key Accountabilities

Review, approve, certify machinery systems and designs for new buildings, ships in service and ship conversion projects, in accordance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations
Assist clients during the design and manufacturing phase, providing guidance and support with respect to Class Rules and Statutory Regulations
Perform assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements where necessary also for consulting activites

Understand and apply project management concepts and providing feedback to project manager with a proactive approach
Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to resolve design conflicts

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Engineering

Qualifications

Experience

Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineer or equivalent
5+ years of experience in marine machinery systems design, certification, installation, and approval (previous experience from any IACS member class society would be an advantage)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to follow established systems and procedures
Advanced English (German is a plus)
