RINA is currently recruiting for a Germany Junior Machinery Plan Approval Engineer to join its office in Germany within the North Europe Marine Division.

Mission

This role focuses on performing detailed plan and design reviews, decarbonisation activities, resolving issues related to conflicting design requirements, ensuring client requirements and applicable rules/standards are met.

Projects could include the approval of new building, conversion, and existing vessels and yachts.

Key Accountabilities

Review and approve machinery/piping system designs and documentation for decarbonisation for new buildings, ships in service and ship conversion projects, in accordance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations
Assist clients during the design and construction phase, providing guidance and support with respect to Class Rules and Statutory Regulations
Perform assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements where necessary also for consulting activites
Understand and apply project management concepts and providing feedback to project manager with a proactive approach.
Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to resolve design conflicts

Education

Master’s Degree in Naval Engineering

Qualifications

Exposure to class/flag requirements (SOLAS/IMO, class rules); prior internship or project experience with an IACS member or shipyard is a plus.
Ability to work in a team and on tight schedules
Ability to manage conflicts and to negotiate
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Advanced level of English ( german is a plus)
