RINA is currently recruiting for a Germany Hull Plan Approval Engineer to join its office in Hamburg / Rotterdam within the Marine North Europe Region Division.

Mission

For this role, you will be responsible for design assessment of various ship structural documents in accordance with statutory codes, RINA Rules & Regulations and International & National Standards in a consistent and timely manner for new buildings, conversion projects and Ship in Service.

Key Accountabilities

  • Review and approve hull structural drawings of ships, offshore units, and marine equipment, in compliance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations, for new buildings, ships in service, and ship’s conversions.
  • Assist clients during the design and construction phase, providing guidance and support related to structural design.
  • Provide support for the elaboration of detailed marine engineering plan review, in compliance with applicable RINA rules, international conventions and contractual requirements.
  • Provide support for the resolution of issues related to conflicting design requirements and material standards.
  • Provide direct or indirect support to engineers or engineering teams by gathering data, submitting documentation to officials and other day-to-day duties.
  • Prepare the project deliverables (technical reports, project performance documentations and engineering drawings, etc.) .
  • Understand and apply project management concepts providing feedback to project manager, serve as reference for the escalation of issues.
  • Assess minor structural problems for internal/external clients to determine solutions with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Naval Architecture, Naval Engineering or equivalent 
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience 
  • Proficiency in English. German or Dutch knowledge will be considered as advantage.
  • Knowledge of relevant Class and Statutory Regulations 
  • Knowledge of Structural Software (FEA) as advantage.
