RINA is currently recruiting for a Environmental Plan Approval Technician (JC_0597) to join its office in Hamburg within the  Division.​

Mission

 

This role focuses on supporting the elaboration of detailed plan and design reviews, resolving issues related to conflicting design requirements, ensuring client requirements and applicable standards are met. Projects could include the approval of new building, conversion, and existing vessels and yachts.

 

We are seeking junior candidates to undertake internship activities during their Master’s degree studies. We have two internship positions available at our Hamburg office.  #LI-DP1

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Assist in the review and assessment of environmental plans, technical documentation, and engineering drawings.
  • Support environmental compliance evaluations for marine, offshore, and shipbuilding projects.
  • Conduct research on environmental regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to maritime operations.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, review comments, and approval documentation.
  • Analyze data and contribute to impact assessments and compliance monitoring activities.
  • Support project teams in maintaining accurate technical records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical and environmental compliance issues.
  • Participate in internal meetings, training sessions, and technical discussions.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree
Master’s Degree in Naval Engineering or Environmental Engineering

What are we looking for

 

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
  • Background or coursework in environmental engineering is considered a strong advantage.
  • Good proficency in Engish (written and spoken) is required. German would be an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of marine systems, ship design, or offshore engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of programming languages is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with engineering and technical software is considered a plus (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, Ansys, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within an international team environment.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
