RINA is currently recruiting for a System Integration Engineer to join its office in Genoa within the Electronics and System Engineering Division.​

Mission

The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and executing the integration of systems, ensuring that various subsystems function seamlessly together. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, with hands-on experience in integration, testing, and troubleshooting.

Key Accountabilities

System Integration Planning and Coordination:
 - Contribute to the planning of systems engineering activities, including detailed requirements management and technical interface management.
 - Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop comprehensive integration plans and schedules.
Subsystem Integration and Support:
 - Contrinute to the integration efforts of various subsystems, ensuring successful integration of signaling, communication, and other components.
 - Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, providing technical support and solutions to ensure system compatibility and performance.
Interface Management:
 - Define and manage interfaces between subsystems to ensure smooth and efficient communication and operation.
 - Work closely with system architects and design teams to refine and clarify interface specifications, ensuring all requirements are met.
Testing and Validation:
 - Execute, and manage test plans for integrated systems, ensuring all subsystems perform as expected.
 - Conduct validation tests to identify and address any issues, ensuring system reliability and compliance with project specifications.
Documentation and Reporting:
 - Review and integrate subsystem test and commissioning management plans into comprehensive system documentation.
 - Regularly update and maintain System Performance Test documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Risk Management:
 - Identify potential risks related to system integration and develop effective mitigation strategies.
 - Proactively address issues to prevent project delays and ensure smooth project progression.
Continuous Improvement:
 - Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in system integration and related fields.
 - Provide insights and recommendations for improving integration processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaboration and Coordination:
 - Coordinate tests and trial run sessions, ensuring active participation from all relevant teams.
 - Prepare and present detailed reports on system-level testing, following up on documentation and ensuring all stakeholders are informed.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering General

Qualifications

  • Experience in system integration, preferably in a related industry such as transportation, telecommunications, or aerospace.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, integration methodologies, and interface management.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing test plans, conducting validation tests, and troubleshooting integration issues.
