RINA is currently recruiting for a Sustainability Project Manager to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the ESG & Sustainability Division.

Mission

The ideal candidate will closely work with players within the industry/commercial and financial sectors which are willing to implement a green, decarbonization and/or ESG strategy. The candidate will be responsible to manage & coordinate projects and business opportunities in the sustainability & climate change business and provide ad-hoc technical support in the delivery.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop commercially and then manage & coordinate project execution in sustainability field, with particular emphasis on ESG, GHG accounting, Decarbonization, Climate Mitigation & Adaptation, Climate Finance & Risks, Green Finance.
  • Manage the entire project life cycle, from sales, up to closure capturing and disseminating lessons learned. 
  • Coordinating contract negotiation and claims with customers, in collaboration with the Supply Chain and Legal functions.
  • Monitoring and controlling project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow (regularly adopting CRM Microsoft Dynamics 365 for project management).
  • Implement Research & Development tasks of Sustainability & Climate Change related projects funded by EU through the Research and innovation funding programme (Horizon Europe 2021-2027)
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to sustainability, with thorough knowledge in climate finance & risk, green finance, decarbonisation and ESG principles.

Qualifications

 

  • Appropriate Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Engineering, Economics or other related discipline
  • Post-graduate study in sustainability matters and climate-energy transition will be considered as a plus
  • Previous experience working for a Consultancy would be beneficial
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English (C1 Level), other languages an asset (e.g., French, Spanish)
  • At least 3 years of experience in sustainability & climate change advisory
  • Project Management Professional (PMP or PRINCE2) certification is a plus
  • Able to work under pressure, to operate in a resource constrained environment, to manage many projects concurrently, to set priorities, and to be goal oriented
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead and coordinate diverse client teams
  • Excellent business development skills with the ability to generate new opportunities and establish strong and trustworthy relationships with potential clients and strategic partners
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information clearly
  • A high level of competence with Microsoft Office, excellent Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills #LI-MR1
