RINA is currently recruiting for a Software Application Engineer to join its office in Genoa, Turin, Rome (Italy) within the Digital Technology and Cybersecurity Division.​

Mission

The Software Application Engineer focuses on designing, developing, testing, and deploying software applications that align with our business needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX/UI designers, and software developers, to deliver high-quality solutions to our customers. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software development and a passion for building scalable, maintainable, and efficient applications.

Key Accountabilities

Software Development:

  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure software applications.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code adhering to software development best practices.
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements and implementation plans.
    Testing and Deployment:
  • Write automated tests to ensure the quality of applications and enhance test coverage.
  • Debug the implemented application software
  • Support the V&V team during testing and validation activities for defect analysis
  • Analyze and solve detected problems implementing the needed corrections
    Documentation:
  • Document sw requirements, design decisions, APIs, and implementation details.
  • Maintain technical documentation and diagrams related to the software applications.
    Support and Maintenance:
  • Technical support to customers and internal teams as needed.
  • Debug and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
    Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Identify and propose improvements to existing software applications and development processes.
  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
    Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software applications.
  • Communicate technical concepts and ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems

Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of experience in similar roles
  •  Good experience as a Software Engineer or Software Application Engineer, with a track record of delivering high-quality software applications.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as C/C++ or C#.
  • Experience with desktop application development frameworks (e.g., MS Visual Studio, VS Code, Eclipse).
  • Knowledge of requirements management and design tools (e.g. UML-based tools).
  • Familiarity with database technologies (SQL databases).
  • Understanding of software engineering life cycle and development best practices, including Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git). - Familiarity with Graphic
  • User Interfaces design and related development frameworls (e.g. Qt, NI LabWindows/ LabView) is a plus.
