RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Technical Expert - Stability (NAPA) to join its office in Genoa, within the Marine Consulting Division.

Mission

This role focuses primarily on developing studies related to Ship Stability, preparing feasibility studies, developing related documents and resolving issues related to conflicting design requirements, ensuring client requirements and applicable standards are met.

Projects could be relevant to new building, conversion, and existing vessels. #LI-GZ1

Key Accountabilities

  • Developing or updating NAPA Software Model.
  • Preparing Full Intact and Damage Stability Booklet
  • Performing Longitudinal Strength Calculation of Cargo Hold
  • Preparing Loading and Unloading Sequences
  • Assist clients during the design and construction phase, providing guidance and support related to stability issues
  • Resolve issues related to conflicting design requirements and standards.
  • Review the project deliverables (technical reports, project performance documentations and engineering drawings, etc.).
  • Assess complex stability problems for internal/external clients to determine solutions.
  • Oversee and manage day-to-day project elements.
  • Ensure correct and up-to-date data is used and complete documentation is submitted to client and other day-to-day duties.
  • Perform stability assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.
  • Take ownership and responsibility over the financial progress of assigned tasks.
  • Understand and apply project management concepts providing feedback to project manager.
  • Able to manage projects assigned applying project management concepts and techniques.

Education

High School Diploma/GED in Naval Engineering

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of NAPA software or equivalent
  • Broad knowledge of Class rules and statutory regulations with particular reference to International Load line Convention and SOLAS
  • Language skills: fluency in Italian and English
