RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Resilience Engineer to join its office in Genoa within the Civil Engineering Division.​

Mission

The Senior Resilience Engineer will focus on the development of risk and resilience assessments in different contexts, supporting the progress of internal service and tools used for this aim. The Senior Resilience Engineer will act also as main contact point for relevant projects, including research activities.  

Key Accountabilities

  • Structural Analysis: perform modeling and analysis of buildings to evaluate structural performance and reliability;
  • Material Science: analyze construction materials to select appropriate solutions for safety and cost-effectiveness;
  • Risk & Resilience Modeling: develop and implement methodologies to assess structural resilience; use Python or other programming languages to automate data analysis, risk modeling and performance reporting;
  • Team Collaboration: integrate into an international, multidisciplinary team (Civil Engineers, Architects, etc.) to provide direct support on engineering projects;
  • Reporting: prepare technical reports, risk assessments and progress updates in both english and italian;
  • Professional Development: gain hands-on experience with advanced industry software under the mentorship of senior tutors. Improve or begin the knowledge of tools and software with support from the tutors;
  • Achieve the capability of writing sections of reports both in english and italian. #LI-RD1

Education

Master’s Degree in Building Engineering or Civil Engineering

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in Building engineering;
  • technical skills on structural modeling;
  • expertise in designing and analyzing structural elements to ensure safety, reliability and cost-effectiveness;
  • knowledge of building codes and standards;
  • experience with structural design software (e.g., SAP2000, Pro_Sap, Ansys);
  • knowledge of building materials and their properties;
  • analytical and quantitative mindset. Candidates must possess experience with or a strong attitude and willingness to learn Python (or similar languages) to solve engineering problems, manipulate structural data, and automate risk analysis workflows;
  • ability to work with and understand BIM models is a plus;
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment.
