RINA is currently recruiting for a Railway Signalling Senior Assessor to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Transport & Infrastructure Certification Division.
Mission
The role focuses on performing assessment and EC Certification activities (execution of activities and reports) within the railway signalling environment.
The candidate will execute specific tasks as a member of teams for the Independent Safety Assessment (ISA), European Certification according to TSI-CCS 2023/1695/EU and Testing of trackside and onboard signaling products and systems for Italian and international projects. #LI-MC1
Key Accountabilities
- Assessment Activities:
Perform thorough evaluation and compliance checks of projects in the Railway Signalling domain, ensuring alignment with industry standards. - Client Interaction:
Act as the main point of contact for clients, leading meetings to understand project requirements and communicate expectations effectively. - Delivery Assurance:
Ensure timely and successful delivery of assessment and verification plans, providing active support for project success. - Knowledge Sharing:
Mentor and share expertise with Assessors, fostering their professional growth and development. - Compliance and Standards:
Conduct activities in accordance with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards. - Client Feedback Analysis:
Use client feedback to make recommendations for service delivery enhancements. - Project Management:
Manage project activities, monitor progress, and ensure successful project outcomes. - Design Verification:
Conduct design verification activities as per reference standards, ensuring structural and quality system checks.
Education
Qualifications
- At least 3/5 years of experience in conducting assessments, validation activities, and audits within the railway environment.
- Strong background in railway signalling systems design, operation, and maintenance, with a focus on compliance and regulatory standards.
- Proven track record of preparing and executing detailed assessment reports in alignment with industry standards and organizational requirements.
- Experience with safety management systems (SMS) and quality assurance practices within the railway sector is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of railway regulations, standards, and certification processes (e.g., UIC, ERA, EN standards).
- Strong understanding of safety and quality control procedures related to railway systems and operations.
- Ability to evaluate and assess technical systems, infrastructure, and operational processes within the railway industry.
- Proficiency in report writing and presenting complex technical information in a clear and structured manner.
- Knowledge of risk management, compliance assessment, and performance evaluation in the context of railway operations.
- Fluent English written and spoken.
- Additionally, a Type B Driving License is required.
