RINA is currently recruiting for a Piedmont, Liguria & Valle D'Aosta Certification HSE Lead Auditor to join its office in Genova within the Mediterranean & Africa Certification Division.​

Mission

The successful candidate will join the operational team dedicated to certification services, contributing to the credibility of certification processes and supporting organizations in adopting safer, more sustainable and responsible operating models. They will play an active role in planning, conducting and managing third-party audits in the areas of environment, health and safety, within a dynamic technical environment that offers professional growth, client exposure and the opportunity to progressively expand expertise across key ISO schemes and broader environmental sustainability topics.

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan, organize and conduct client audits in line with the requirements of the applicable certification schemes, with a particular focus on environmental and occupational health and safety management systems.
  • Review management system documentation, assessing its completeness, adequacy and compliance with regulatory and certification requirements.
  • Identify and document audit findings, including non-conformities, observations and opportunities for improvement, ensuring methodological rigor and clear reporting.
  • Prepare accurate, comprehensive and technically sound audit reports to support certification decisions.
  • Engage professionally with clients and internal stakeholders, helping to build trusted relationships and ensure a high standard of service.
  • Contribute to maintaining and developing your qualifications by taking part in training and mentoring programmes aimed at extending your scope across the main ISO schemes, particularly ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Work across a variety of organizational settings, progressively developing a broad understanding of management systems and the key challenges in environment, health and safety.
  • Over time, support the expansion of technical expertise across cross-cutting environmental topics and related services, such as climate change, carbon management, GHG statements, sustainability and the circular economy.
  • Ensure the proper management of audit evidence, data and technical documentation in line with internal and accreditation requirements.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering General or Environmental Science

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in auditing, consulting, implementing or maintaining management systems in the environment and safety field.
  • Knowledge of the main reference standards, with a particular focus on ISO 14001 and ISO 45001; familiarity with additional ISO schemes or related standards will be considered an advantage.
  • Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification, or the requirements and potential to achieve Lead Auditor status for the main ISO schemes.
  • Good knowledge of the applicable environmental and occupational health and safety regulatory framework.
  • A strong commitment to continuous learning and to progressively expanding expertise into cross-functional environmental sustainability topics relevant to a certification body.
  • Motivation to grow in a highly qualified technical environment, with exposure to clients, sectors and a wide range of projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a high degree of autonomy, and the ability to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide.

Compensation Data

The salary range and job grade for this position are defined based on objective, role-related criteria, and responsibilities in accordance with CCNL RINA (CNEL code I480).

The gross annual salary range foreseen is between €35,000 and €45,000 and will be finally defined on candidate’s professional experience, qualifications, competencies, and overall alignment with the role.

In addition, an annual variable compensation component is provided, based on both Company and individual performance objectives in accordance with the current policies and collective agreements.

The overall compensation package is complemented by the Company's welfare.
