RINA is currently recruiting for a Naval Architect and Senior Offshore Engineer to join its office in Genova, Italy within the Energy Engineering Solutions Division.

Mission

The Senior Naval Architect and Offshore Engineer is responsible for performing and/or supervising technical engineering services, including third party verification and consultancy activities related to vessels, floating structures and floating terminals as well as engineering consulting within the offshore environment, mainly focused to energy sector.

This role ensures compliance with project requirements within assigned budgets, schedules, and quality standards, while maintaining and developing technical expertise and procedures. The position focuses on capitalizing on project experiences to enhance and harmonize work methodologies. #LI-MP3

Key Accountabilities

Leadership and Coordination:
-Lead and coordinate all activities relevant to the design, verification and certification of vessels, floating structures and  terminals, either brown or green field.
-Supervise the execution of all technical activities within the discipline.
Project Management:
-Manage internal and external project interfaces to ensure timely provision of necessary input/information for project execution.
-Control and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion.
Technical Oversight:
-Oversee engineering activities and provide technical support or direction in solving technical issues.
-Lead the engineering team in identifying strategies for system configuration tasks and component design, ensuring project progress and task completion within constraints.
-Identify project and contract hot spots and criticalities.
-Optimize technical engineering processes to reduce time and costs.
Interface Management:
-Oversee the management of interfaces with other disciplines and construction/installation activities, driving the team toward cost-effective solutions.
Third-Party Management:
-Supervise and coordinate the activities of review/independent analysis of junior Colleagues during third-party engineering activities.
Client and Project Team Interface:
-Oversee requisitioning and technical bid evaluations.
Skill Development:
-Develop personnel skills and flexibility through work assignments, responsibilities, and participation in seminars and courses.
Commercial Support:
- Support the commercial team in planning and providing new services and new monodisciplinary proposal.
- Ensure and monitor the invoicing of activities carried out by the engineering team and business support team.
Reporting:
- Report to the line Manager and/or Principal Engineer, providing updates on project progress and technical challenges.

Qualifications

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in offshore engineering projects, with particular reference to Floating Units.
Proven track record of executing, managing and supervising engineering teams and projects.
- Advanced proficiency in numerical analysis and design.
- Good knowledge of FEM software (e.g., OPTIMOOR, ORCAFLEX, SACS, ANSYS) and relevant codes and standards (e.g., API, DNV-GL, ISO, OCIMF).
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Relevant certifications in project management or offshore engineering are advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with cost control, scheduling, and progress monitoring.
- Flexibility in mobility abroad for short/medium periods on a project basis.

Education

Master’s Degree in Naval Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
