RINA is currently recruiting for a Marine Environmental Surveys Junior Consultant to join its office in Genoa, Rome, Milan - Italy within the Energy Engineering Solutions Division.

Mission

The selected candidate will join the Environmental Engineering department working within a multidisciplinary team involved in environmental related tasks and studies for Energy, Industry and Infrastructure projects in Italy and abroad.
The focus of this job vacancy is related to the marine environmental surveys including both desk and field activities.

Job Responsibilities

- work on / support the design of marine nearshore and offshore surveys

- working onboard assisting the execution of environmental marine surveys onshore and onshore (water/sediment characterisation, biocenosis, ROV/camera shooting, etc)

- subsequent reporting

 

The candidate could also be involved in other environmental tasks developed by the environmental engineering department (including permitting, environmental studies and biodiversity related studies).

Experiences and Requirements

  • Master’s Degree Marine Sciences, Marine Biology or similar
  • At least 2 years experience in similar assignments
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written (Knowledge of other languages will be considered as a plus)
  • Familiarity with national environmental regulation and international standards
  • Know-how on marine environmental topics (biological and physical components)
  • Familiarity with GIS tools
  • Previous experiences in environmental marine filed (on-board nearshore and offshore) activities and reporting
  • Availability for business trip and mission in Italy and abroad (including long lasting on-board offshore missions)
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, on challenging and diversified activities and on tight schedules
  • Proactivity and problem solving attitude 

Education

Master’s Degree in Biology or Natural Science
