Mission
RINA is currently recruiting for a Cyber Security Consultant - Marine to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Marine Consulting Division. The mission is provide technical expertise and support for consulting activities related to RINA Marine Cyber Services portfolio.
Key Accountabilities
Support RINA consulting activities related to ship and onboard systems Cyber Security Certification (Ship Certificates and Systems Type Approvals)
Understand Clients’ requirements, coordinate with RINA Marine Cyber (Services and Consulting) colleagues (in Europe) to prepare job offers with adequate technical detail to cover the applicable marine regulatory requirements.
Contact and support shipping companies, suppliers, shipyards and other stakeholders as/when needed to provide technical information and support consulting activities related to RINA Marine Cyber Services portfolio.
Provide technical advice and guidance to clients on issues related to Marine Cyber Security during, ship design, construction, commissioning and operational life.
The main responsibilities include:
- Definition and review of the security governance model (roles, responsibilities, decision-making processes).
- Implementation of a Cyber Security Management System (CSMS) compliant with ISO/IEC 27001, IEC 62443, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), and NIS2 Directive.
- Support during the technological design phase of OT and IT systems, ensuring network segmentation, protection of interconnections, and resilience against cyberattacks.
- Definition of Security Requirements for suppliers and supervision of secure integration across IT/OT/Cloud environments.
- Design of dedicated or outsourced Security Operations Centers (SOC).

Qualifications
- Having at least 2 years of work experience in a related field will be considered as a plus
- Knowledge of other related standards and best practices of information security (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST Cyber Security Framework, NIST SP800-53, etc…) is considered a plus
- Collaborative mindset with experience in working alongside senior engineers, naval architects, and other professionals in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of safety standards, promoting safe practices in maritime operations and ensuring compliance with industry safety regulations.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues, addressing technical queries and providing clear guidance.
