RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Software Application Engineer to join its team in Genoa within the Operating Engine Division.​

Mission

We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to join our satellite navigation systems and mission-critical software development team. This candidate will contribute to the design, modeling, simulation, and validation of algorithms and software components related to GNSS navigation and signal processing.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design, analysis, and development of algorithms for satellite navigation systems (GNSS, sensor integration, state filters, etc.).
  • Model development and simulations in MATLAB & Simulink for functional validation of algorithms.
  • Implementation, optimization, and testing of software modules in Python for data processing and rapid prototyping.
  • Performance analysis of GNSS systems under nominal and degraded conditions, with statistical and modeling evaluations.
  • Contribution to the definition of technical requirements and preparation of design documentation.
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams for the integration of software modules into complex, missioncritical systems.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Computer Engineering
Master’s Degree in Engineering General

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in navigation/simulation development or studies in related topics (GNSS, state estimation, sensor fusion, signal processing).
  • Excellent knowledge of MATLAB & Simulink for dynamic modeling and simulation.
  • Good knowledge of Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, data analysis and prototyping tools).
  • Knowledge of GNSS system principles: segments, signals, error budgets, propagation and measurement models.
  • Familiarity with estimation and filtering techniques (Kalman, EKF, UKF)

Compensation Data

The salary range and job grade for this position are defined based on objective, role-related criteria and responsibilities in accordance with CCNL RINA (CNEL code I480).

The gross annual salary range foreseen is between €30,000 and €38,000 and will be finally defined on candidate’s professional experience, qualifications, competencies and overall alignment with the role.In addition, an annual variable compensation component is provided, based on both Company and individual performance objectives in accordance with the current policies and collective agreements. The overall compensation package is complemented by the Company's welfare.
