RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Construction Safety Engineer to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Civil Engineering Division.
Mission
As a Junior Construction Safety Engineer, you will support the implementation and monitoring of safety processes on construction sites, ensuring that activities are carried out in compliance with safety standards and regulations. You’ll work under the guidance of Senior or Principal Engineers, gaining hands-on experience and growing your technical and professional skills. #LI-MT3

Key Accountabilities
-
Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating safety risks on construction sites
-
Conduct site inspections to spot hazards and unsafe practices; prepare reports and help implement corrective actions

Support in drafting project-specific safety documentation (e.g. Safety Plans, Risk Assessments, Method Statements)

Review construction plans to ensure alignment with current safety regulations and standards

Contribute to the development of emergency response plans

Participate in safety training sessions and toolbox talks for on-site personnel

Join incident and near-miss investigations, contributing to root cause analysis and preventive actions

Assist with day-to-day project monitoring and support the engineering team on-site

Contribute to technical documentation including Health & Safety Plans, coordination reports, and progress updates

Ensure compliance with RINA’s Quality Management System and policies
Education
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction and Environmental Engineering

Knowledge of key safety regulations and industry standards in construction

Familiarity with risk assessment techniques and mitigation measures

Strong observational and reporting skills from site inspections

Proficiency in technical writing and documentation
