RINA is currently recruiting for a Job Title: Global Procurement Director - Direct Purchases to join its office in Genoa (Italy) within the  Division.

Mission

The Global Direct Supply Chain Director will be responsible for enhancing the effectiveness of the Supply Chain, with a particular focus on activities Direct purchasing. The role involves developing and implementing Supply Chain strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with applicable guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for direct materials and services that align with the company’s overall business goals and needs.
  • Lead global procurement activities for direct spend categories, including materials, components, equipment, and production-related services.
  • Responsible and accountable for the strategy definition and deployment in all regions collaborating closely with regional procurement teams.
  • Manage supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, and performance evaluation to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as operations, engineering, quality, internal business partners, sales and finance to understand business requirements and drive procurement decisions.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks by developing alternative sourcing strategies and supplier diversification.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including cost reduction, supplier innovation, and process efficiencies.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, supplier performance, and procurement metrics to make informed strategic decisions.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing global procurement team, promoting best practices and compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and ethical standards in procurement activities.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across the globe to support new projects development and ensure procurement aligns with projects timelines and quality standards.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Management Engineering or Supply Chain Management

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

· 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement with a strong focus on direct materials sourcing in a global environment.

· Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation for direct spend categories.

· Experience working with global supply chains and multi-cultural teams.

· Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement software.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· English and Italian proficiency is a must.

Preferred Skills:

· Experience in industries such as manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, electronics, or heavy industry.

· Knowledge of sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.

· Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.

· Experience working in diverse international markets.
