RINA is currently recruiting for a Italy Food Certification Business Development Manager to join its office in Genoa, Turin or Milan, Italy within the Mediterranean & Africa Certification Division.

Mission

The Food Business Development Manager will be instrumental in developing RINA offering of an assigned services portfolio and/or within an assigned geographical coverage.

Key Accountabilities

  • Drive and monitor the order intake pipeline; #LI-AU5
  • Updating the pipeline with new prospects to be followed up;
  • Work across the RINA Group developing ‘cross selling’ and mutual opportunities;
  • Track competitor activity and providing updates on competitor news and intelligence;
  • Be responsible for sales and business development initiatives: focused on new sales and business opportunities for Food Market, client visits and management;
  • Explore opportunities for alliances and partnerships to explore new markets and opportunities;
  • Engage with current and potential customers to discuss and understand their needs and requirements;
  • Supporting our focus on customer satisfaction, repeat business and developing new markets;
  • Stay current with RINA’s current and future offerings and technology solutions, including but not limited to customer tailored tools.

Education

Master’s Degree in Agriculture/Agronomy/Food Technology

Qualifications

- Substantial experience in business development, sales, or related roles is often a key requirement. Business Development Managers may be expected to have 3-7 years or more of relevant experience.
- Technical knowledge of the main food certification schemes (BRCGS, IFS, GLOBALG.A.P., FSSC22000), Food Product and MS certification.

- Proficient in sales techniques, including prospecting, lead generation, and closing deals. Business Development Managers should have a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and agreements with clients, partners, and vendors.
- Analytical thinking to assess market trends, competitor activities, and performance metrics to inform decision-making.
- In-depth knowledge of the industry, market trends, and competitive landscape to make informed business decisions.
- Familiarity with relevant technologies and tools, including CRM systems, to streamline business development processes.
