RINA is currently recruiting for a Italy Electrical Plan Approval Engineer to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Mediterranean and Africa Marine Division.

Mission

This role focuses on plans and documents reviews related to electrical and environmental matters, ensuring compliance with the applicable standards.

Key Accountabilities

Review and approve drawings of electrical, automation systems, including autonomous ship technology and cyber security, for newbuilding, conversions and ship in service.
Marine equipment documents verification, in compliance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations.
Carry out the approval of ship’s systems plans and certification according to Class Rules and Statutory Regulations.
Support for type approval certifications according to tasks arrangement by the Manager.
Provide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements
Manage projects assigned applying project management concepts and techniques.
Emissions verification according to MARPOL Convention and other IMO-related requirements.
Emissions verification according to EU Directives and Regulations (e.g. MRV, ETS, Fuel-EU Maritime).

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

Qualifications

Understanding of electrical regulations and standards (e.g., IEC, ABS, IMO) for ships and maritime operations, including electrical system design, installation, and maintenance.
Understanding of ship’s machinery systems.
Analytical skills to identify potential system issues or areas of non-compliance during technical reviews.
Ability to collaborate with internal teams and clients to facilitate the approval process and address technical concerns.
Knowledge of IMO Convention.
Knowledge of English language.
