RINA is currently recruiting for a Internship - Social and Human Rights Consultant to join its office in Genoa within the Sustainability and Business Innovation Division.
Mission
As a Social and Human Rights Intern, you will be part of the international team, providing various clients with technical advice and solutions on different projects to Lenders or clients in the social and sustainability sphere. You will have the opportunity to learn about assessment and monitoring of Lenders’ compliance issues, ESG assessment for social aspects, human rights and supply chain compliance, stakeholder engagement and gender aspects, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the Social Compliance team.
Key Accountabilities
- Learn how to carry out a due diligence and monitoring process for social and human rights aspects, including the evaluation of social aspects.
- Join the project team in delivering social impact assessment reports and relevant social documents to clients in line with international standards and Lenders’ requirements.
- Develop your understanding of Sustainability Reports and their disclosure to internal and external stakeholders.
- Learn how to prepare technical proposals.
- Collaborate to monitoring regulatory and industry updates related to social and human rights standards.
Education
Qualifications
- MSc or MA degree in Sustainability Development, International Development, Sociology, Political Sciences, Anthropology, Human Rights, Gender Studies or equivalent background and/or focus on social impact.
- Theretical knowledge and interest of international standards (IFC/EBRD/WB/Equator Principles or other Lenders’ environmental, social, health and safety standards) with particular focus on Social Components Assessment and Compliance (such as involuntary resettlement, indigenous peoples’ management topics, gender and human rights topics, stakeholder engagement, and labor and working conditions).
- Academic knowledge and interest of EU requirements framework, recent EU regulations related to ESG aspects, and of cut-crossing themes including gender parity, diversity and inclusion, and modern slavery.
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English and Italian, working knowledge of French, Spanish, and/ or Arabic is an asset.
