RINA is currently recruiting for a Internship - Junior Biodiversity Consultant to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Environmental and Engineering Geoscience Division.
Mission
Join our team at RINA Consulting S.p.A., where we are devoted to providing national and international clients with expert advice on biodiversity and ecosystem services for projects in Italy and around the world.
Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will join the biodiversity and ecosystem services team, and will be trained on national and international projects for biodiversity related tasks.
The candidate will support and learn from the team both for desk-top tasks, preparing parts of reports and taking part to site visits both in Italy and abroad.
Typical deliverables will be:
- biodiversity baseline and impact assessment according to national and international requirements,
- habitat/critical habitat assessment,
- habitat mapping
- ecosystem services studies,
- biodiversity action plans,
- due diligence according to international standards
- assessment/gap analysis of international biodiversity standards.

Experiences and Requirememts
We are seeking a candidate with the following skills and qualifications to excel in this role:
- Hold a Master's degree in Natural Sciences or a related field
- Demonstrate fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a strong asset
- Have familiarity with national, EU environmental/biodiversity regulations, and international standards such as IFC/WB, EBRD
- Proficiency with GIS tools is essential
- Experience with other environmental modeling and monitoring tools is advantageous
Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess a proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability
