RINA is currently recruiting for a Global HSSE Advisor to join its office in Genoa (Italy) within the Global HSSE Division.

Mission

The ideal candidate will support the application of the Corporate and Company HSSE policies, developing and implementing guidelines, procedures and protocols, for the security and safety of Company assets, projects and business travels.

Key Accountabilities

  • Compliance Monitoring:
    - Ensure that the organization complies with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
    - Monitor and track changes in regulations and update relevant stakeholders
  • Risk Assessment:
    Assist in conducting risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace
    Collaborate with other departments to analyze and mitigate risks
  • Training and Education:
    Support the development and delivery of HSE training programs for employees
    Help create educational materials to promote awareness of health and safety issues
  • Incident Investigation:
    Participate in investigations of accidents, incidents, or near-misses to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences
    Assist in the documentation of incidents and the implementation of corrective actions
  • Data Analysis:
    Collect and analyze HSE data to identify trends and areas for improvement
    Prepare reports on HSE performance and make recommendations based on the analysis
  • Emergency Response Planning:
    Contribute to the development and testing of emergency response plans
    Assist in organizing drills and training exercises for emergency situations
  • Inspections and Audits:
    Support regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures
    Document findings and work with relevant teams to address any deficiencies
  • Communication:
    Assist in the communication of HSE policies and procedures to employees
    Participate in HSE meetings and collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of safety
  • Documentation and Record Keeping:
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to HSE activities
    Assist in preparing documentation for regulatory agencies and internal audits
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HSE processes and procedures
    Stay informed about industry best practices and incorporate relevant updates into the HSE program

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or Healthcare

Qualifications

  • Having certifications related to health and safety can enhance a candidate's profile. Common certifications include:
    • OSHA 30-Hour or OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Certification.
    • First Aid and CPR certifications.
    • NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health).
    • ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional).
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations is crucial
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends related to health, safety, and environmental performance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Italian (C1 level)
