RINA is currently recruiting for a Geohazard Consultant to join its office in Genoa or Milan, Italy within the Environmental and Engineering Geoscience Division.

Mission

The successful candidate will be highly organized, detailed-oriented and responsible of his/her technical duties, capable of working autonomously and under supervision, executing Projects within the discipline, interfacing and coordinating with other peers. You will work on challenging offshore and onshore projects, collating, processing and interpreting data. Working together as a global team, you will be expected to achieve extraordinary results in a demanding and challenging business environment that is constantly changing.

Key Accountabilities

  • Performs marine geophysical data interpretation and technical reporting under general supervision.
  • Accurately interprets, validates and assimilates different geophysical (MBES, SSS, SBPs including 3D and 2D sections, etc..), geotechnical and geological data.
  • Geohazard and risk assessment analyses.
  • Integration of data for ground modelling assessment.
  • Knowledge of seismic data inversion (i.e., python) is considered a plus.
  • Present results of interpretation computing quality maps and illustrations and writing technical reports.
  • Fluent English speaking and writing.
  • Work offshore on geophysical vessels can be occasionally required. #LI-MT3



Education

Master’s Degree in Geology or Physics
Doctorate/PHD

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years working experience in geophysical survey and reporting for Oil&Gas and/or Wind Farm industry.
  • Experience in the use of the main software packages for geophysical acquisition, processing and interpretation (IHS Kingdom, ArcGIS, Global Mapper, SonarWiz, etc…).
  • Ability to work well in team and/or alone and shows initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously, sometimes under pressure, and always within deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (English) are essential.
  • Availability to travel worldwide on short-mid term assignments and ability to occasionally work offshore.
  • Experience in geophysical data acquisition and processing is a plus.
