RINA is currently recruiting for a Fire Testing Laboratory Technician to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Mediterranean & Africa Certification Division.
Mission
As a Fire Test Laboratory Technician will play a crucial role in planning and executing tests in accordance with international standards, methods, and client specifications. This position involves ensuring adherence to safety protocols, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the overall efficiency of our fire testing laboratory. #LI-MC1
Key Accountabilities
1. Test Planning and Execution:
- Develop test plans based on international standards, methods, and client requirements.
- Perform reaction and resistance to fire tests on materials and products.
2. Compliance:
- Ensure all tests are conducted in strict adherence to international standards and methods.
- Stay updated on industry-specific testing requirements and adjust protocols accordingly.
- Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards in the laboratory.
3. Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of test procedures, results, and any anomalies observed during testing.
- Prepare comprehensive test reports for internal and external stakeholders.
4. Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment used for fire testing.
- Identify and report any issues with equipment functionality.
5. Quality Assurance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality control measures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
6. Collaboration:
- Collaborate with team members, researchers, and clients to understand testing requirements.
- Provide technical support and expertise during collaborative projects.
Education
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a laboratory technician with a focus on fire testing.
- In-depth knowledge of international standards and testing methodologies related to fire safety.
- Proficiency in planning and executing reaction and resistance to fire tests.
- Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on chemical or diagnostic testing.
- Knowledge on ISO IEC 17025 and and ISO 9001 scheme is preferred.
