RINA is currently recruiting for a Energy Efficiency & Climate Risk - Technical Specialist to join its office in Genoa within the Sustainability and Business Innovation Division.​

 

Mission

The selected candidate will join the Technical Discipline “ESG, Sustainability & Climate Risk” at RINA Consulting, contributing to international projects with a strong focus on energy efficiency, energy management, decarbonisation and climate risk assessment.

The role is highly oriented towards technical delivery, supporting clients across industry, public sector and finance in improving energy performance, reducing emissions, and strengthening climate resilience of assets and operations.

Key Accountabilities

The candidate will be involved in delivering specialized technical services in the following areas:

  • Energy Efficiency & Energy Management: energy audits, energy performance analysis, implementation of ISO 50001 energy management systems
  • Decarbonisation & Carbon Management: GHG accounting (Scope 1, 2, 3), carbon footprint (corporate and product), decarbonisation strategies and target setting (e.g. SBTi)
  • Climate Change & Climate Risk: climate risk and vulnerability assessment, climate adaptation and resilience planning, scenario analysis

Key accountabilities include:

  • Delivering projects in energy efficiency, GHG accounting and decarbonisation
  • Conducting energy audits, carbon footprint assessments and climate risk analyses
  • Supporting development of climate adaptation and resilience strategies
  • Contributing to R&D and EU-funded projects (Horizon Europe) in ESG and climate domains
  • Supporting the preparation of technical proposals in sustainability, energy and climate-related services
  • Managing multiple projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality delivery

Education

Master’s Degree in Energy Engineering or Engineering General
MBA/Post Graduate Degree in Environmental Engineering

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Energy Engineering, Environmental Engineering or similar
  • At least 3 years of experience in energy efficiency, energy management, decarbonisation or climate-related topics
  • Proven experience in at least one of the following:Energy audits / ISO 50001, GHG accounting / carbon footprint, Climate risk, adaptation or resilience
  • Familiarity with frameworks and standards such as GRI, ESRS, EU Taxonomy, SBTi
  • EGE (Esperto in Gestione dell’Energia) certification is a strong plus
  • Excellent command of English and Italian (C1); additional languages are a plus
