RINA is currently recruiting for a Direttore Operativo di cantiere - OPERE MARITTIME to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Civil Engineering Division.
Mission
The Marine Site Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the execution of marine work (port, quay, etc,) and related infrastructure works, with a particular focus on construction requirements. Reporting to the Construction Manager and working within the Site Supervision Team, the role ensures that construction activities comply with technical specifications, environmental constraints, applicable regulations, and quality and safety standards. #LI-MT3
Key Accountabilities
Site Supervision and Technical Oversight
- Ensure all construction works, particularly those involving ports, quays, submarine work, are executed in accordance with approved project designs and relevant marine works regulations.
- Monitor compliance with project prescriptions, national regulations, best practices during the execution phase.
Quality Control and Progress Monitoring
- Implement and oversee quality control procedures for marine work activities.
- Collect and analyze on-site data (e.g., dimensional control, in-situ tests, etc.).
- Prepare regular technical reports and documentation on project progress.
Document Management and Reporting
- Maintain accurate project records, including site reports, test results, certificates, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Manage design changes and project updates, assessing their technical implications.
Technical Support and Coordination
- Support designers and contractors in resolving technical issues, proposing timely and effective engineering solutions.
- Participate in technical meetings and coordinate activities with regulatory authorities and stakeholders.
Safety and Environmental Compliance
- Monitor the correct application of safety standards for marine works.
- Assist in the preparation of Quality Control Plans where applicable.
Education
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in Engineering, or a related field.
- Registered member of the Professionals’ Association (Ordine degli Ingegneri or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction supervision for major marine infrastructures.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of marine works issues and topics.
- Proficient in interpreting design documents and technical reports.
- Familiarity with technical regulations (e.g., NTC, Construction Safety Regulations, Public Procurement Code).
- Skilled in preparing technical documentation and site reports.
