RINA is currently recruiting for a Direttore Operativo Geologo - Civil Infrastructures to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Civil Engineering Division.

Mission

The Construction Supervision Geologist supports the Works Director (Direttore dei Lavori) in supervising civil infrastructure construction projects, with specific responsibility for geological, geotechnical, and environmental aspects of site activities.
The role ensures that construction works comply with design specifications, geotechnical conditions, environmental requirements, safety regulations, and contractual obligations, particularly in complex infrastructure projects such as roads, railways, tunnels, bridges, and hydraulic works.

Il Direttore Operativo Geologo supporta il Direttore dei Lavori nella supervisione di progetti di infrastrutture civili, con particolare responsabilità sugli aspetti geologici, geotecnici e ambientali delle attività di cantiere.
Il ruolo garantisce che i lavori siano eseguiti in conformità alle specifiche progettuali, alle condizioni geotecniche, ai requisiti ambientali, alle normative di sicurezza e agli obblighi contrattuali, in particolare nell’ambito di opere infrastrutturali complesse quali strade, ferrovie, gallerie, ponti e opere idrauliche.

Key Accountabilities

Construction Supervision – Geological/Geotechnical Aspects

Support the Works Director in supervising construction activities related to soil, rock, and groundwater conditions.
Verify compliance of works with geological, geotechnical, and environmental design specifications.
Monitor excavation activities, slope stability, foundations, tunnels, earthworks, and ground improvement works.

Site Investigations & Monitoring

Technical Documentation & Reporting

Review geological and geotechnical reports, method statements, and technical documentation submitted by contractors.
Prepare site reports, inspection minutes, technical notes, and progress documentation.

Coordination with Contractors & Stakeholders

Variations, Claims & Technical Support

Safety & Quality

Collaborate with safety coordinators to ensure safe execution of excavation and geotechnical works.
Ensure compliance with quality standards and company procedures (QMS).

Site Presence

Ensure regular site inspections and continuous technical supervision of critical construction phases

Supportare il Direttore dei LavorI
Verificare la conformità dei lavori alle specifiche progettuali geologiche, geotecniche e ambientali.
Monitorare attività di scavo, stabilità dei versanti, fondazioni, gallerie, opere in terra e interventi di miglioramento dei terreni.

Indagini e Monitoraggi di Cantiere

Supervisionare indagini geologiche, investigazioni geotecniche e programmi di monitoraggio.
Interpretare dati di sito (sondaggi, prove di laboratorio, monitoraggi strumentali).
Identificare potenziali rischi geologici e proporre misure di mitigazione.

Controllo Ambientale e Idrogeologico

Documentazione Tecnica e Reporting

Coordinamento con Imprese e Stakeholder

Interfacciarsi con imprese, progettisti, laboratori, specialisti ambientali ed enti pubblici.
Supportare la risoluzione di problematiche tecniche legate alle condizioni geologiche.

Varianti, Riserve e Supporto Tecnico

Presenza in Cantiere #LI-MT3

Education

Master’s Degree in Geology

Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience in construction supervision, geotechnical engineering, or geological consulting within infrastructure projects.
Proven experience in civil infrastructure works.
Strong knowledge of geotechnical and geological investigation methods.
Familiarity with Italian construction regulations, NTC standards, and public works procedures is highly desirable.
Experience in construction supervision or Direzione Lavori roles is a strong plus.
Professional registration (Ordine dei Geologi or equivalent) preferred.

Almeno 5 anni di esperienza nella supervisione lavori, ingegneria geotecnica o consulenza geologica in progetti infrastrutturali.
Esperienza comprovata in opere di infrastrutture civili.
Solida conoscenza delle metodologie di indagine geologica e geotecnica.
Familiarità con normativa italiana delle costruzioni, NTC e procedure dei lavori pubblici altamente preferibile.
Esperienza in attività di Direzione Lavori o supervisione cantieri costituisce titolo preferenziale.
Iscrizione all’Ordine dei Geologi (o equivalente) preferibile.
