RINA is currently recruiting for a Decarb & Chain of Custody Product Management - Maternity Leave to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Certification Market Development Division.
Mission
The candidate supports the Certification Scheme Leader in ensuring that products, services, or systems meet the necessary International, National and European Union (EU) or Accreditation Body or Certification Body or industry safety and conformity requirements.
Key Accountabilities
1. Regulatory Compliance Management: #LI-MC1
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on all applicable regulatory frameworks, including EU directives, industry safety, and conformity standards. Keep abreast of regulatory changes to ensure schemes remain compliant and up to date.
2. Certification Scheme Development and Oversight:
- Collaborate in designing and refining comprehensive certification schemes defining criteria, procedures, and assessment methodologies to uphold integrity and clarity.
3. Leadership of Certification Teams:
- Supervise and support a diverse team of certification professionals including engineers, inspectors, and technical specialists. Foster professional growth, clear communication, and consistent performance.
4. Assessment Coordination and Audit Management:
- Manage and oversee rigorous assessment and audit processes, ensuring thorough evaluation of product documentation, conducting site inspections, and liaising closely with manufacturers to verify compliance.
5. Documentation Verification:
- Guarantee accurate and complete submission of required technical documentation, test reports, and compliance records from clients to facilitate smooth certification processing.
6. Certification Evaluation and Decision-Making:
- Utilize assessment outcomes to make informed certification decisions, ensuring all products, services, or systems meet established standards.
7. Quality Assurance and Process Integrity:
- Develop and maintain robust quality control frameworks that ensure consistent certification outcomes and continuous process improvements.
8. Customer and Stakeholder Relations:
- Act as a primary contact for clients and manufacturers, providing expert guidance, resolving inquiries, and fostering strong collaborative relationships.
9. Market Surveillance Collaboration:
- Partner with regulatory authorities and industry associations to perform surveillance activities, identifying non-compliant products and facilitating corrective measures.
10. Continuous Scheme Enhancement:
- Regularly evaluate certification schemes and internal processes to incorporate best practices, increase efficiency, and respond to evolving industry landscapes.
11. Comprehensive Reporting:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of certification activities, audits, compliance checks, and risk assessments. Prepare and submit reports to regulatory bodies as required.
12. Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks connected to non-compliance, supporting overall organizational risk management strategies.
13. Industry Engagement and Knowledge Sharing:
- Engage proactively with standards organizations and industry groups to align certification activities with global best practices and emerging trends.
14. Data Management Systems:
- Oversee systematic and secure data handling related to certification to ensure transparency, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
15. Training and Professional Development:
- Provide mentorship and training opportunities to junior and mid-level staff, equipping them with the expertise and competencies necessary for successful certification operations.
Education
Qualifications
- Familiarity with industry standards and certification processes (e.g., ISO, IEC, EU regulations).
- Experience in team leadership and decision-making in a certification environment.
- Certification & Compliance Management – Knowledge of certification schemes, auditing, and regulatory frameworks.
- Decision-Making – Ability to evaluate compliance data and make certification decisions.
- Project & Team Coordination – Experience in managing teams and overseeing certification projects.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Ability to liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
- Certification in Quality Management or Auditing (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ISO 17065) is an asset.
