RINA is currently recruiting for a Data Processor for Seismic Inversion - Team Geohazard to join its office in Genoa, Rome or Milan - Italy within the Environmental and Engineering Geoscience Division.

Mission

We are seeking a skilled data processor to join our geohazard team, specializing in seismic inversion for geological ground modelling. The role involves processing and analyzing seismic data to generate accurate subsurface models, supporting geohazard interpretation workflow.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, detailed-oriented and responsible of his/her technical duties, capable of working autonomously and under supervision, executing Projects within the discipline, interfacing and coordinating with other peers. You will work on challenging offshore and onshore projects, collating, processing and interpreting data. Working together as a global team, you will be expected to achieve extraordinary results in a demanding and challenging business environment that is constantly changing

Key Accountabilities

  • Process seismic data using advanced inversion techniques to derive subsurface properties.
  • Perform quality control and validation of seismic datasets to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with geophysicists and geologists to integrate seismic data into geological models.
  • Interpret seismic attributes to support ground modelling.
  • Integration of data for ground modelling assessment.
  • Stay updated on advancements in seismic processing and inversion methodologies.
  • Performs geohazard and risk assessment technical reporting under general supervision.
  • Fluent English speaking and writing.
  • Work offshore on geophysical vessels can be occasionally required #LI-MT3



Education

Master’s Degree in Geology or Science Other
Other in Physics

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master degree in Geology/Earth Sciences or Geophysics/Physics (PhD is a plus). The ideal background would include a mixture of marine geophysics and engineering geology.

Qualification

  • 2-3 years working experience in geophysical survey and reporting for Oil&Gas and/or Wind Farm industry.
  • 2-3 years working experience in seismic data processing and inversion
  • Experience with machine learning techniques in seismic data processing.
  • Familiarity with 3D seismic interpretation and quantitative analysis.
  • Some experience in the use of the main software packages for geophysical acquisition, processing and interpretation (IHS Kingdom, ArcGIS, Global Mapper, SonarWiz, Oasis Montaj, Leapfrog, etc…).
  • Ability to work well in team and/or alone and shows initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously, sometimes under pressure, and always within deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (English) are essential.
