Construction Engineer

RINA is currently recruiting for a Construction Engineer to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Civil Engineering Division.
Mission
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Engineer to provide on-site technical assistance and support to our construction infrastructure team.
The selected candidate will work closely with the Construction Supervision Engineer and other site professionals to ensure smooth project execution, compliance with technical specifications, and efficient problem-solving during all phases of construction. Main activities will be focused on contributing to construction activities to ensure they adhere to project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental considerations, and are completed on time and within budget under the coordination and supervision of the Senior Engineer or Principal Engineer.
Key Accountabilities

Supervising Construction Projects: Support the supervision of construction projects, ensuring that work aligns with approved designs, specifications, and relevant regulations.

Progress Monitoring: Assist in documenting costs and regularly update progress to monitor the advancement of construction works.

Quality Control: Help implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards of construction quality throughout the project.

Project Scheduling: Support the development and maintenance of project schedules to ensure timely progress and assist in addressing any delays or issues impacting project timelines.

Resource Coordination: Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure the availability of necessary resources, materials, and equipment.

Cost Monitoring: Assist in monitoring project expenditures and provide input on cost control measures to keep projects within budget.

Safety Compliance: Work with the Construction Safety Engineer to ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and best practices.

Issue Resolution: Support the identification and resolution of technical issues and challenges that may arise during the construction phase.

Progress Reporting: Assist in preparing and submitting regular progress reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key accomplishments, issues, and proposed solutions.

Change Management: Help manage changes in project scope, schedule, or design, ensuring that all necessary adjustments are communicated and implemented.

Document Management: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, drawings, and records of project-related communications.

On-Site Support: Provide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements, including site visits to take measurements.

Engineering Support: Offer direct or indirect support to engineers or engineering teams, including gathering data for permit applications and submitting documentation to officials.

Project Timeline Development: Assist in developing project schedules and deliverable timelines under the supervision of more experienced engineers.

Technical Deliverables: Help prepare technical deliverables, such as technical reports, project performance documentation, and engineering drawings.

Progress Reports: Generate progress technical reports to keep stakeholders informed about project advancements.
Education
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical support for construction projects, preferably in infrastructure.

Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.

Certification in Construction Management or related fields is an advantage.

Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining project schedules and managing project costs effectively.

Experience implementing and monitoring quality control procedures and ensuring adherence to safety regulations on construction sites. #LI-MT3
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, tunnels, etc.).

Certification in Project Management or Construction Supervision.

Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools.
