RINA is currently recruiting for a Commissioning Specialist to join its team in Piombino (Livorno) within the Energy Project Solutions Division.
Mission
We are seeking two highly qualified professionals to join the Commissioning team in Piombino (LI), Italy.
The selected resources will play a key role in ensuring that all commissioning activities — including testing, functional verification, and preparation for start-up — are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with the project’s standards, procedures, and HSE requirements.
The mission of the required professionals is to guarantee an accurate, compliant, and fully traceable commissioning process, supporting systems and equipment from the testing phase through to handover to Operations.
Project Execution Details
- Duration: 6-8 months
- Expected working pattern: Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day.
- Should commissioning extend to additional platforms, contract extensions may follow.

Key Accountabilities
1.Commissioning Specialist – Static Equipment, Piping & Leak Test
Responsible for supervising commissioning and start‑up of static equipment, piping and leak testing for new oil & gas and renewable facilities, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with standards and schedules.
Supervise commissioning activities per commissioning plan, specifications, QA/QC, and HSE.
Coordinate and control contractors’ activities and progress.
Supervise testing activities (leak test, flushing, drying, chemical cleaning, steam blowing, pressure tests, inerting, preservation).
Review and approve technical documentation and check sheets.
Manage punch list closure and support handover to Operations.
Report issues to the Commissioning Superintendent.
Share and safeguard technical know‑how within the Group.
2.Commissioning Specialist – HVAC
Responsible for providing specialist technical leadership for HVAC commissioning and start‑up activities on new oil & gas and renewable facilities.
Lead and support HVAC commissioning activities per commissioning plan.
Supervise contractors in compliance with HSE, standards, and contract requirements.
Organize and supervise HVAC functional tests and troubleshooting.
Support punch list resolution and interface with the Commissioning Superintendent.
Review HVAC and control system documentation.
Ensure quality of check sheets and system acceptance.
Support handover to Operations.
Key Skills:
HVAC systems, HART protocols, loop checks, Fire & Gas, ICSS, DCS and ESD/FGS configuration, instrumentation and control panels.
