RINA is currently recruiting for a Climate Change Technical Specialist to join its office in Genoa, Milan or Rome (Italy) within the Green Energy Solutions Division.

Mission

The ideal candidate will closely work with players within the industry, R&D and financial services sectors around sustainability with a specific focus on but not limited to Carbon Markets, GHG inventories and decarbonization target settings (SBTi), Carbon Footprint, LCA, Climate Change Risk Assessment,  Decarbonisation studies, Energy Audits, etc.

Key Accountabilities

  • Implement projects with industrial, commercial and financial clients related to carbon markets (with special focus on CBAM, ETS and Voluntary Carbon Markets), climate change risk assessment, quantification of climate-related impacts, target-setting (SBTi), GHG inventories (Scope 1, 2 and 3), energy efficiency assessments, decarbonization strategies and opportunities
  • Implement Research & Development tasks on climate change and decarbonization projects funded by EU through the Research and innovation funding programme (Horizon Europe 2021-2027)
  • Develop new opportunities, interacting with new potential clients and contributing to technical and financial proposals
  • Manage parallel priorities and complex projects ensuring high quality and on time deliverables
  • Collaborate, support and share knowledge with team members to ensure ESG team priorities are achieved
  • Manage contracts and administrative issues related to the project execution (invoicing, management of suppliers, Project Management Systems)

Qualifications

  • Preferably minimum 3 years of work experience in the climate change field, working in either consulting or a corporate/financial environment in a variety of climate change-related matters
  • A postgraduate degree in Sustainability or Energy Management is a plus
  • Experience and knowledge of international sustainability standards, frameworks and indices such as ISO 14064-1, ISO 14067, GHG Protocol, TCFD, GRI, CDP, SBTi and ESG Indices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Italian (C1 level), other languages an asset (e.g., French, Spanish)
  • Excellent knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, Power Point; knowledge of Sphera LCA (GaBi) Software and energy modelling (i.e. Plexos, Leap) are a plus

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering General
Master’s Degree in Energy Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
