Bridge Engineer

RINA is currently recruiting for a Bridge Engineer to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Civil Engineering Division.
Mission
The Bridge Engineer will support the design, assessment, and maintenance of bridge and viaduct structures under the supervision of senior engineers. The role focuses on ensuring structural safety, durability, and performance throughout the lifecycle of bridge infrastructure projects, from preliminary design through construction support and asset management activities.
Key Accountabilities
Bridge Design & Structural Analysis

Contribute to the structural design and verification of bridges, viaducts, and related infrastructure works.

Perform structural analysis considering loads, material behavior, durability, and environmental conditions.

Use specialized structural software to model, analyze, and optimize bridge structures.
Assessment, Inspection & Rehabilitation

Support inspections, structural assessments, and condition evaluations of existing bridges.

Identify maintenance, strengthening, or rehabilitation needs and assist in defining technical solutions.

Contribute to technical reports and asset management documentation.
Project Coordination

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (geotechnical, transport, hydraulic, and construction engineers).

Support project planning activities, including schedules, resource estimates, and technical coordination.
Regulatory Compliance

Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (Eurocodes, NTC, international standards where required).

Keep updated on regulatory developments and engineering best practices.
Construction Support

Provide technical assistance during construction phases, reviewing drawings, responding to RFIs, and supporting site activities when required.

Verify compliance of works with approved designs and specifications.
Documentation & Reporting

Prepare calculation reports, technical notes, drawings coordination inputs, and design documentation.

Maintain organized project documentation and contribute to client reporting. #LI-MT3
Education
Qualifications
-
Approximately 2–5 years of experience in bridge engineering or structural infrastructure projects.

Experience in structural analysis and design of bridges or similar civil structures.

Familiarity with structural analysis software (e.g., MIDAS Civil, SAP2000, LARSA, RM Bridge, or similar).

Basic understanding of Eurocodes, Italian NTC, or international bridge design standards.

Exposure to bridge inspections, rehabilitation projects, or infrastructure asset management is a plus.

Knowledge of BIM tools and CAD software is considered advantageous.
