RINA is currently recruiting for an Asset Data Center Leader to join its offices in Genoa, Milan or Rome (Italy) within the Strategy & Innovation Global Function.

Mission

As Asset Data Center Leader, you will drive the strategic development, coordination, and operational execution of the Data Center Asset, ensuring that strategic directions defined at VP level evolve into concrete initiatives, governance models, and measurable business outcomes. In this role, you will lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, digital, infrastructure, commercial, and innovation domains, ensuring the Asset maintains strong market relevance, technological leadership, and competitive positioning within the fast‑evolving Data Center ecosystem.

Key Accountabilities

1. Strategic Execution & Governance:
Translate the Data Center asset’s strategy and value proposition into actionable programs, roadmaps, and initiatives tailored to hyperscalers, colocation players, utilities, and mission‑critical operators.
Ensure strong governance of Data-Center‑related projects, including design assurance, capacity planning, sustainability and energy‑efficiency initiatives, TCO optimization, and operational resilience.
Continuously refine the Data Center asset roadmap leveraging market signals, regulatory evolution, and internal learnings.
2. Cross-Functional Coordination:
Coordinate multidisciplinary resources across engineering, operations, sustainability, energy, cybersecurity, certification, digital solutions, and R&D.
Ensure consistent execution of DC initiatives, facilitating integration of innovation outputs.
Promote structured collaboration with internal practice leaders.
3. Market & Client Engagement:
Engage with operators, hyperscalers, colocation providers, utilities, and technology vendors to collect insights on capacity needs, energy challenges, and technological trends.
Provide structured feedback to VP on client expectations and competitive positioning.
Support the early shaping of opportunities and concept development.
4. Opportunity Development & Support to Commercial Teams:
Support identification and nurturing of business opportunities in Data Center design, certification, commissioning, operational excellence, energy optimization, ESG performance, and digital assurance.
Collaborate with commercial teams on go‑to‑market actions and proposal preparation.
Contribute to refining value propositions such as DC resilience assessment, PUE optimization programs, and sustainability pathways.
5. Project & Initiative Oversight:
Oversee all Data‑Center‑related innovative initiatives and projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget discipline, risk management, and quality of outputs.
Coordinate internal experts and external ecosystem partners.
Track and communicate KPIs related to growth, operational excellence, sustainability metrics, and client satisfaction.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree
Master’s Degree in Engineering General or Economics

Qualifications

8-12+ years of experience in Data Center, digital infrastructure, mission‑critical facilities, strategic innovation, or portfolio leadership roles.
Proven track record in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing cross‑functional, large‑scale initiatives.
Familiarity with innovation frameworks, DC certification schemes, commissioning processes, and operational excellence methodologies.
Deep understanding of Data Center market trends, including energy transition challenges, AI‑driven demand surges, cooling innovation, regulatory evolution, and digital transformation.
Strong capability to translate technical and commercial insights into strategic decisions.
Solid experience in budget management, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Outstanding communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
