RINA is currently recruiting for a Poland Environmental /Machinery/Piping Plan Approval Senior Engineer to join its office in Gdansk within the Marine North Europe Region Division.

Mission

This role focuses on performing detailed plan and design reviews, resolving issues related to conflicting design requirements, ensuring client requirements and applicable standards are met

Projects could include the approval of new building, conversion, and existing vessels and yachts.

Key Accountabilities

  • Carry out the approval of plans and certification for marine pollution prevention equipment and statutory plan, in compliance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations, for new buildings, ships in service, and ship’s conversions.
  • Assist clients during the design and construction phase, providing guidance and support related to environmental aspect.
  • Resolve issues related to conflicting design requirements and material standards.
  • Perform  assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.
  • Review the project deliverables (technical reports, project performance documentations and engineering drawings, etc.).
  • Review progress reports and take appropriate action to ensure requirements are met.
  • Understand and apply project management concepts providing feedback to project manager, serve as reference for the escalation of issues.
  • Assess complex structural problems for internal/external clients to determine solutions.
  • Answer complex contractor questions on behalf of the supervising engineer, and serve as liaisons between engineering and construction personnel.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years related work experience, previous experience from other IACS society would be an advantage
  • Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineer or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English language
  • Precise and concise written communication skills
  • Good oral communication skills and confidence in dealing with a range of people, including clients, contractors, designers, directors and plant operators
  • Organizational skills, such as time and resource planning.
  • Ability to follow established systems and procedures
