Job Summary

The Fluid & Waste Engineer is responsible for management of all well operations fluid & waste related to well construction operations (drilling, completion) across operated assets in Azule Energy, putting safety and reliability at the forefront of all operations and ensuring activities are delivered in an efficient and competitive way, consistent with our client´s procedures and policies and local regulations regarding waste disposal.

 

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Main activities:

Responsible for managing of all Fluid & Waste of all new well operations activities across Azule Energy;

The activity set is expected to be the equivalent of at least two continuous rig work fronts;

Responsible for managing Fluid & Waste safety disposal during all kind of Well operations activities, that includes: new wells drilling, completions and existing well interventions.

Responsible for the technical quality of well execution deliverables (work instructions for cement jobs, operational reports), including the provision of expertise, training, and advice to offshore team members;

Responsible for contractor performance for all Well Operation Fluid Contracts (Mud, Cementing, Brine, Filtration....).

Ensure the operations are conducted in the best interest of the Company.  Discusses future operations plans with the Fluid &Waste Superintendent in an effort to optimize and eliminate problems.

Communicate effectively with Fluid &Waste Superintendent to ensure that all technical specifications of the Fluid Programs are met.

Coordinate and liaise with the Drilling SuperIntendent, Fluid &Waste Superintendent, Material & Logistics Coordinator & Drilling supervisors for a timely arrival of Well operations fluid services on wellsite and a timely disposal of fluid&waste onshore.

 

Safety:

Self-verify safety performance at the rig site within the framework of the safety management system;

Systematically engage Company and contractors’ team within the area of responsibility in the process safety for wells operations fluid activities;

Manage reporting and investigation of possible issue with Fluid & Waste management, including closure of actions and capturing lessons learned;

Verify Fluid readiness prior to starting up operations with new rigs;

Maintain Azule well operating Fluid & Waste management procedures and safe work practices.

 

Execution activities:

Deliver Drilling&Completion fluid for well execution activity in line with Company standards, procedures and regulatory requirements;

Deliver Drilling&Completion fluid for well execution performance within Company approved time and cost;

Discuss operational input into possible Fluid engineering design and program development to confirm that the Well program can be delivered safely and efficiently;

 

Contract Management:

Check and validate contractor’s offshore personnel timesheet and pro-formas, to be in compliance with the existing contracts;

Establish contractor programs for day-to-day operations.

 

 

Leadership management:

Manage the Offshore Fluid Contractor team and verify that the staff has the appropriate level of competencies and is available;

Demonstrate effective leadership by leading offshore Wells Operations fluid activities.

Encourage an atmosphere of teamwork among the drilling staff, rig site personnel, service providers and other disciplines.

 

KPI Ownership:

Drilling and Wells activity work preparation, work execution and schedule performance;

Drilling and Wells actual costs vs forecast;

Drilling and Wells safety performance;

 

Desired Skills & Experience

Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Petroleum Engineering preferred;

More than ten years of experience as Fluid and Waste Engineering for Well Operations activities (offshore area preferred).

 

Requirements

Subject Matter Expert in all aspects of  Fluid&Waste for Drilling, Completions, Well Interventions, Well Operations, and Well Integrity;

IWCF for subsea activities valid.

Drilling/Completion or Fluid Engineering course.

 

Working Conditions

Working conditions are typically offshore/outdoor with exposure to environmental stress, an possibly some kind of heat, cold, or noise.
