Fleet Integration Lead (ETCS & Radio)

RINA is seeking a freelance/independent Fleet Integration Lead (ETCS & Radio) to support the integration of onboard signalling, ETCS, train control and radio systems into rolling stock, ensuring compatibility with infrastructure, telecommunications, operations, testing and commissioning requirements.

The assignment is expected to run for a period of up to 24 months and will be delivered through a blended working model, comprising approximately 50% attendance in Ireland and 50% remote working, according to programme requirements.

The role provides specialist support for integration strategy, interface management, design reviews, issue resolution, testing and compatibility evidence, coordinating stakeholders across fleet, signalling, telecommunications, infrastructure, operations, safety assurance and commissioning to enable the successful introduction of onboard railway systems.

Key Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline, with at least 10 years’ railway experience in rolling stock integration, onboard signalling, train control or telecommunications.
• Recent experience integrating ETCS, train control, GSM-R, FRMCS or radio systems into rolling stock, including design, testing, commissioning or operational introduction.
• Strong understanding of vehicle interfaces, infrastructure compatibility, telecommunications, signalling integration and operational requirements.
• Ability to prepare integration strategies, technical reports, compatibility evidence, interface assessments and test or assurance inputs.
• Experience in multidisciplinary railway environments, with strong stakeholder coordination, technical leadership and problem-solving skills. #LI-FC1
