RINA is currently recruiting for a Railway Signalling Junior Assessor to join its office in Florence, Italy within the Transport & Infrastructure Certification Division.
Mission
The role focuses on supporting the assessment and validation activities related to railway projects. #LI-MC1
The candidate will execute specific tasks as a member of teams for the Independent Safety Assessment (ISA), European Certification according to TSI-CCS 2023/1695/EU and Testing of trackside and onboard signaling products and systems for Italian and international projects.
Key Accountabilities
- Assessment and Validation Support: You will support in performing assessment and validation activities related to railway projects, ensuring compliance with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
- Delivery Assurance: Your role involves ensuring the timely and successful delivery of assessment and verification plans under the supervision of an Assessor or Senior Assessor.
- Project Support: You will assist projects in achieving satisfactory results within set timelines, actively contributing to the accomplishment of project goals.
- Compliance and Standards: Conduct activities in alignment with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards to uphold the quality and safety of railway systems.
- Knowledge Transfer: Support in the development of technical knowledge and facilitate effective knowledge transfer among colleagues within the organization.
- Client Feedback Analysis: Analyze client feedback to make recommendations for continuous improvement in service delivery standards.
- Project Management Support: Contribute to project management activities by monitoring project progress and providing necessary support as required.
- Design Verification Assistance: Assist in design verification processes according to reference standards, performing structural and completeness checks on quality system documentation.
Education
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Up to 2 years of experience in assessment, auditing, or inspection, preferably within the railway environment or related industries (consideration given to internships or entry-level roles).
- Exposure to railway regulations, safety management systems, or quality assurance within the transportation sector is desirable but not mandatory.
- Basic understanding of railway systems such as signalling, track infrastructure, and rolling stock, including familiarity with their operations.
- Knowledge of railway safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., EN, UIC, ERA) is beneficial.
- Ability to assist in executing assessments and validation activities on railway projects or systems.
- Familiarity with technical reports and proficiency in accurately documenting assessment activities and outcomes.
- Attention to detail and the ability to identify compliance issues or deviations from standards.
- Fluent English written and spoken.
- Additionally, a Type B Driving License is required.
