RINA is currently recruiting for a Aerospace Lead Auditor to join its office in Florence, Italy within the Mediterranean & Africa Certification Division.

Mission

The role focuses on planning, execution, and management of audits within our certification business, leading large and complex customer engagements, ensuring effective audit processes, compliance with standards, and fostering strong client relationships. #LI-MC1

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and coordinate comprehensive third-party audits in accordance with the EN9100:2018 aerospace quality management standard, conducting thorough evaluations of client processes and quality systems to verify compliance and identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Manage a complex three-year strategic audit schedule for diverse aerospace client organizations, ensuring timely execution of audits that uphold certification validity and foster sustained organizational development.
  • Engage proactively with clients, conducting in-depth consultations to understand their operational environments and certification goals, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor who supports their journey toward excellence.
  • Collaborate extensively with internal departments such as engineering, quality assurance, and compliance teams to facilitate the effective implementation of audit recommendations and corrective action plans, ensuring measurable outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in aerospace regulations, including EASA Part 145 and Part 21, as well as evolving industry quality standards and best practices, equipping yourself to offer informed counsel and maintain RINA Services’ leadership in the certification domain.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of audit methodologies, tools, and practices within the aerospace certification division by sharing insights and developing innovative approaches that boost audit quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct training and mentoring sessions for junior auditors and staff to support knowledge transfer and professional development within the team.
  • Travel extensively (75%-100%) to client sites across the Mediterranean & Africa regions, delivering audits and client support with a flexible, responsive approach adapted to suit varied operational contexts.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree
High School Diploma/GED in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of the IAQG-recognised 9100:2016 Aerospace Auditor Transition Training, validated by accredited Personnel Certification Bodies.
  • At least four 4 of dedicated aerospace sector experience, particularly within engineering, manufacturing, or quality control roles focused on aerospace components or systems.
  • Professional certification or registration on Aerospace Registers such as OASIS, particularly in relation to EN9100:2018 standards, will be regarded as a significant advantage.
  • Strong familiarity with critical aerospace regulatory frameworks, including EASA Part 145 and Part 21, demonstrating the ability to interpret and apply these requirements effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Italian, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven capability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, displaying adaptability and a commitment to shared goals and continuous improvement.
