Subsea System Engineer

RINA is currently recruiting for a Subsea System Engineer to join its office in Fano (Italy) within the Plant Engineering Division.
Mission
The Subsea System Engineer is a crucial role within a subsea/offshore engineering team, responsible for a variety of Technical Engineering activities related to design, verification and certification of Subsea structure/System and Vessel receiving structures, either existing or new.
Key Accountabilities
Engineering Studies and Design Activities:
- Develop and perform engineering studies, analyses, and calculations for subsea structures/systems and vessel receiving structures, covering both existing assets and new projects.
- Conduct design and engineering consulting activities across all project phases, including feasibility studies, concept selection, FEED, basic and detailed design, and cost estimation.
- Prepare and maintain the Design Basis, ensuring proper interface with relevant engineering disciplines (structures, process, installation, etc.)
Structural Analysis and Layout:
- Develop structural stress analyses and define layouts and configurations for subsea structures, equipment, flanges, fittings, and associated components.
- Perform and/or verify all discipline-specific analyses and calculation reports required for the design of subsea structures/systems and vessel receiving structures.
Client, Project, and Certification Interfaces
- Interface with clients and internal project teams to clarify technical requirements and provide effective engineering solutions.
- Review client technical documentation during both bidding and execution phases.
- Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, including technical clarifications and documentation.
- Interface with clients and certifying bodies, reviewing comments and ensuring timely and effective technical responses.
Technical Documentation and Standards:
- Review client technical specifications and requirements, ensuring compliance and adequacy of project documentation.
- Update technical documents based on comments from other disciplines, clients, shipyards, and third parties.
- Contribute to the development and updating of internal standards, guidelines, and technical procedures.
- Cooperate in the preparation of technical papers, engineering rules, and guidelines.
Subcontractor and Third-Party Engineering Control:
- Review and control engineering documents produced by subcontracted disciplines.
- Perform engineering reviews and independent analyses of subsea and vessel receiving structures within third‑party engineering scopes.
- Monitor and assess engineering activities of subcontractors and third-party engineering companies to ensure technical compliance.
Engineering Support and Problem Solving:
- Support the Subsea Senior Engineer / Subsea Principal Engineer in addressing and resolving technical issues arising during project execution.
- Ensure the implementation of approved design changes, providing regular technical progress updates.
- Report engineering activities, issues, and progress to the Subsea Senior Enginee.
Education
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in subsea/offshore engineering projects, with a proven track record in leading technical engineering activities.
- Proficient knowledge of structural analysis techniques and relevant software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS).
- Good knowledge in CAD software for layout design (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., API, ASME, ISO).

Compensation Data
The salary range and job grade for this position are defined based on objective, role-related criteria and responsibilities in accordance with CCNL RINA (CNEL code I480).
The gross annual salary range foreseen is between €32,000 and €42,000 and will be finally defined on candidate’s professional experience, qualifications, competencies and overall alignment with the role.
In addition, an annual variable compensation component is provided, based on both Company and individual performance objectives in accordance with the current policies and collective agreements.
