Junior Pipeline Engineer

Mission

The Junior Pipeline Engineer contribute to the design and development of pipeline systems. Assisting the senior engineers, the Junior Pipeline Engineer is involved in various aspects of pipeline design, material selection, hydraulic analysis, regulatory compliance, and construction support. 

Key Accountabilities

• Support senior engineers in developing detailed engineering designs for pipelines, considering factors such as fluid type, pressure, temperature, terrain, and environmental regulations;
• Collaborate with senior engineers to determine the best route for the pipeline, considering topography, geotechnical conditions, and land use, while minimizing environmental impact;
• Aid in choosing appropriate materials for pipeline construction, considering factors like corrosion resistance, strength, and cost-effectiveness under the guidance of senior engineers;
• Assist in conducting hydraulic analysis to ensure proper sizing and flow characteristics of the pipeline, considering factors like pressure drop, fluid velocity, and pump station requirements;
• Work with senior engineers to ensure that pipeline designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and codes;
• Assist in performing stress analysis to ensure the structural integrity of the pipeline under various operating conditions and external forces, under the guidance of senior engineers;
• Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as civil, structural, and environmental engineers, to integrate pipeline design with overall project requirements;
• Support senior engineers in preparing cost estimates for pipeline construction, considering material costs, labor, equipment, and other relevant expenses;
• Provide assistance during the construction phase, addressing any design-related issues that may arise and ensuring that the construction is in accordance with the approved design under the guidance of senior engineers;
• Aid in identifying and assessing potential risks associated with pipeline design and proposing mitigation measures under the guidance of senior engineers;
• Assist in communicating with clients to understand their requirements, present design proposals, and address any concerns or modifications;
•  Assist in preparing detailed engineering documents, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports under the guidance of senior engineers;
• Support senior engineers in exploring new technologies and methodologies to optimize pipeline design and construction processes.  #LI-SC1 

Education

Qualifications

•  1-3 years of working experience;
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and concepts;
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities;
• Eagerness to learn and develop within the field of pipeline engineering;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Italian and English;
• Knowledge in engineering software tools such as Ansys, AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar will be positively evaluated.

Compensation Data

Compensation & BenefitsThe salary range and job grade for this position are defined based on objective, role-related criteria and responsibilities in accordance with CCNL RINA (CNEL code I480).

The gross annual salary range foreseen is between €30,000 and €39,000 and will be finally defined on candidate’s professional experience, qualifications, competencies and overall alignment with the role.In addition, an annual variable compensation component is provided, based on both Company and individual performance objectives in accordance with the current policies and collective agreements.

The overall compensation package is complemented by the Company's welfare.
