RINA is currently recruiting for a Railway/Metro Signalling Engineer to join its office in Delhi within the Civil Engineering Division.

Mission

RINA is looking for a Railway/Metro Signalling Engineer , to be based in our offices in India, to join our team and support the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of signalling systems for rail and metro networks. The role involves ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of railway signalling infrastructure in compliance with international standards and project requirements. 

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop signalling system designs, including interlocking, train detection, automatic train control (ATC), and communication-based train control (CBTC) systems.

  • Contribute to the design, integration, and validation of ETCS (European Train Control System) solutions, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and specifications (e.g., UNISIG SUBSETs, ERA/ERTMS guidelines, CENELEC EN 50126/8/9).
  • Prepare technical specifications, design drawings, and documentation in accordance with project and safety standards.

  • Support system integration activities across signalling, rolling stock, power supply, telecommunications, and control systems.

  • Perform signalling system analysis, risk assessments, and safety verification to ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., CENELEC EN 50126/8/9).

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely project delivery.

  • Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and validation of signalling equipment.

  • Participate in troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and reliability improvement activities for operational systems.

  • Provide technical support during project tendering and procurement processes.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering General

Qualifications

•    Master’s Degree in Electronics, Electric or Telecommunications Engineering
•    Maximum 5 years of experience in Multi-Station Computer-Based Interlocking Subsystems and its configuration or design or testing
•    Passionate about Railway Technologies and Signalling Systems
•    Willingness to learn
•    Teamworking and good communication skills
•    Willingness to travel abroad 
 - Strong technical writing skills, with experience in preparing system specifications, design documents, and reports.
 - Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve technical issues in power system design.
 - Experience in testing and validation activities, including developing test plans and supporting prototype evaluations.
 - Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with engineers, stakeholders, and project teams.
 - Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying updated on new technologies and industry best practices.
