Energy Storage Junior Consultant_Renewables

Mission

As a Junior Energy Storage Solutions Consultant, you will support senior consultants and project managers in reviewing and analyzing renewable energy projects, particularly focusing on energy storage systems (ESS) integration. You will contribute to technology studies, electrical design evaluation, and assist in the development of energy storage projects, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You will gain exposure to various project phases, from feasibility assessments to design and implementation, while working under the guidance of senior engineers and consultants.

Key Accountabilities

Energy Storage Projects Support: 
 - Support the management and execution of energy storage projects, including feasibility studies, design development, construction monitoring, and testing phases. 
 - Assist in coordinating cross-functional teams and support project management efforts to ensure timely delivery and client satisfaction. 
Conduct Research and Technology Assessments: 
 - Perform research on various energy storage technologies, with an emphasis on Li-ion batteries and emerging storage solutions (e.g., flow batteries, hydrogen). 
 - Assist in conducting technical and structural assessments to ensure the feasibility and optimization of energy storage systems. 
Support Electrical Design Evaluations: 
 - Assist in reviewing electrical design plans for renewable energy projects to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. 
 - Help identify areas for improvement in electrical systems to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. 
Contribute to Feasibility Studies and Project Planning: 
 - Assist in preparing feasibility studies to evaluate the technical and economic viability of energy storage 
systems. 
 - Work with senior consultants to develop preliminary designs for BESS and renewable power plants, ensuring optimal performance. 
Collaborate on Environmental and Safety Documentation: 
 - Assist in reviewing environmental studies and permitting documents to ensure regulatory compliance. 
 - Support the evaluation of health and safety reports, identifying potential risks and recommending preventive 
measures. 
Support Grid Integration and Connection Studies: 
 - Collaborate with senior engineers to analyze grid offers, connection agreements, and assist in modelling efforts for grid integration. 
 - Provide support in assessing the technical challenges of connecting energy storage systems to the power grid. 
Client Communication and Documentation:

- Help prepare technical reports and documentation for clients, ensuring clear communication of project findings. 
 - Participate in client meetings and assist senior consultants in delivering high-quality consulting services. 
H&S Framework: 
 - Responsible for ensuring personal and others' health and safety (H&S) by using safety measures correctly, complying with company and client H&S policies, and completing mandatory training. Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe behaviors as per company guidelines. Authorized to stop work if operations are unsafe and report to management. 

Education

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge: 
 - Basic understanding of energy storage systems, particularly Li-ion battery technology. 
 - Familiarity with renewable energy technologies (solar PV, wind) and hybrid systems. 
 - Awareness of industry trends and challenges in energy storage integration. 
Experience: 
 - Minimum 5 years of experience in the renewable energy sector. Energy storage projects is preferred. 
 - Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies is beneficial. 
Skills: 
 - Analytical and problem-solving skills. 
 - Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment. 
 - Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in energy storage and renewable energy integration. 
 - Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with project management software or engineering design tools (HOMER, AutoCAD, MATLAB) is a plus.
