RINA is currently recruiting for a Combustion Station Junior Engineer to join its office in Dalmine within the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Division.

Mission

RINA is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated technical resource to join the Combustion Studies Station located in Dalmine, Italy. This position offers the opportunity to work closely within a collaborative team that is dedicated to advancing our knowledge and capabilities in combustion technology. You will play a fundamental role under the guidance of the Operating Unit responsible, contributing to groundbreaking research and innovation.

Key Accountabilities

The primary responsibilities for this role encompass the design and setup of experimental test rigs aimed at burner qualification and executing comprehensive testing campaigns. During these experimental trials, you will be expected to conduct process monitoring and ensure thorough data collection in order to validate findings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, constructing, and maintaining experimental setups to evaluate burner performance.
  • Carrying out manual activities with precision during the preparation of test rigs and execution of experimental campaigns.
  • Collaborating effectively with team members and displaying excellent communication skills to enhance teamwork.
  • Collection and management of test data .
  • Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment to ensure both personal and team safety during testing activities.

Your proactive attitude and ability to respond to challenges will be instrumental in ensuring the success of the combustion studies we undertake.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Energy Engineering
High School Diploma/GED in Mechanical Studies

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Energy Engineering, or a High School Diploma/GED accompanied by relevant Mechanical Studies.
  • Previous experience in laboratory testing of burners or similar applications, which is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the installation and use of gas lines for flammable gases is a bonus resource.
  • Certification for operation of forklift and crane, ensuring safe handling of materials.
  • Proficient use of LabView and/or Eurotherm PLC, enhancing operational capabilities.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite for effective data management and reporting.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD software to assist in designing experimental setups.
