QA/QC Mechanical Inspector

Rina is seeking a detail-oriented QA/QC Mechanical Inspector to join our team at the SPIRE LNG Plant in Coosada, Alabama. The role focuses on ensuring the quality and compliance of mechanical components and systems with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
The Mechanical Inspector must reliably commute or plan to relocate for the duration of the assignment.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS and CERTIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess:
- AWS-CWI certification preferably, however a thorough understanding of welding and related experience
in AWS, ASME, CSWIP.
- Working Knowledge in ASNT NDT techniques (e.g., UT, MT, PT, RT, VT).
- Familiarity with standards such as API 510, API 570, API 653, ASME B31.3, and other industry codes.
- Strong knowledge of root cause failure analysis, corrosion mechanisms, and cathodic protection
systems.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in an EPC environment, focused on large-scale Oil & Gas, chemical, or
hazardous material construction projects. ( ideal is a strong Experience in LNG plant)
- At least 5 years of direct QA/QC experience in mechanical, welding and structural disciplines within the
construction industry.
- Strong background in inspecting piping systems, rotating equipment, pressure vessels and structural
steel components.
EDUCATION
Minimum education level:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Technical Certification or Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred but not required
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a QA/QC Mechanical Inspector, you will:
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications, identifying discrepancies or potential issues.
- Conduct inspections and verifications of mechanical systems, including pressure-retaining
components, piping, valves, and rotating equipment.
- Monitor and validate welding processes, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Execute inspections for piping systems, pipelines, structural steel, and skid-mounted packages.
- Witness and document testing procedures, including NDT methods such as UT, MT, PT, RT, and VT.
- Review and enforce Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure all construction activities align with
project requirements.
- Identify and report non-conformances, issue deficiency reports, NCRs and recommending corrective
actions.
- Ensure that testing and measuring equipment is properly identified, calibrated, and maintained.
- Assist in conducting mechanical completion checks and functional tests for equipment and systems.
- Validate worker qualifications for specialized processes and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Work closely with the QA/QC Manager to maintain a robust quality management program on-site.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and manage inspections.
