RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager - Rail & Transit to join its office in Chicago, IL within the North America Infrastructure & Mobility Division.
Mission
The Senior Project Manager [Rail & Transit Systems] is responsible for executing and leading rail and transit projects, ensuring completion of deliverables within the defined deadlines, scope, and budget. The Senior Project Manager serves as a technical expert charged with leading audit planning and execution related to signaling, traction power and communications. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring technical integrity, compliance, and adherence to project requirements and standards.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide project management on medium to large-size projects; identify and assess potential risks, non-conformities, and deviations from project requirements with a focus on technical aspects.
- Conduct technical audits on various rail or transit engineering documents and specifications related to signaling, traction power and communications; provide audit findings to clients and/or engineering staff.
- Develop specifications regarding technical integration of engineering disciplines, along with technical audit specifications regarding required safety certifications associated with new or significantly re-constructed rail or transit systems.
- Review, audit develop signaling commissioning plans for new or significantly re-constructed rail or transit systems and close out procedures.
- Assist with business development support and proposal process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent field of study.
- 15+ years of technical experience working on large railroad and transit projects.
- Deep knowledge in system engineering and integration in railway and metro environments
- Strong experience in managing the review and approval of documents and discipline-specific deliverables, certifications, processes, and plans in a multi-project environment.
- Familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
- Strong oral and written communication skills needed to communicate with all levels of the organization and external contacts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience utilizing the following software preferred:
- Customer relationship management (CRM)
- Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- 20% travel to job/client sites may be required; overnight travel may be required on occasion based upon business need.
