RINA is currently recruiting for a Claims and Changes Manager to join its office in Chicago within the North America Infrastructure & Mobility Division.

Compensation Data

Compensation Range: $165,000 - $195,000 

Mission

The Claims and Changes Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the claims process and change management activities for a large complex transportation engineering program. This role ensures that claims are processed efficiently while implementing necessary changes to improve processes, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The Claims and Changes manager collaborates with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure best practices in claims handling and change implementation

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end claims process, ensuring timely and accurate claim resolutions.
  • Investigate, analyze, and negotiate claims to determine validity and appropriate settlements.
  • Develop and implement claims policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to claims handling.
  • Coordinate with legal teams, insurers, and external parties for dispute resolution.
  • Monitor claims trends and identify areas for improvement or risk mitigation.
  • Train and mentor claims staff to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead and manage change initiatives within the claims department.
  • Develop and implement strategies for process improvements and efficiency.
  • Communicate change plans effectively to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Conduct impact assessments and risk analysis for proposed changes.
  • Ensure seamless integration of new policies, procedures, and technologies.
  • Monitor the success of implemented changes and make necessary adjustments.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the claims function.
  • Provide reports and insights on claims performance, trends, and change impact.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for claims and change processes.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, construction management, risk management, or a related field.
  • Experience in claims management, insurance, or risk assessment.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy civil engineering claims policies, legal regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Experience in leading change management initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management information reporting tools, i.e. Trimble Unity Construct
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.


Additional Qualifications:

  • Certifications in claims management, risk assessment, or change management preferred but not required. (e.g., CPCU, AIC, Six Sigma).
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Travel to project site
