RINA is currently recruiting for a Business Development Director - North America Infrastructure and Mobility to join its office in Chicago, Boston or Houston within the North America Enginering Commercial Management Division.

Compensation Range: $190,000 - $210,000 + Bonus
Mission
The Business Development (BD) Director’s mission is to maximize the commercial success of the Infrastructure + Mobility business with customers across North America (NAM). Your efforts will directly shape the future of the transportation industry, with success measured by the volume of contracts awarded and the strategic growth in profit margins.

Key Accountabilities
The North America Business Development Director will develop and implement the NAM commercial sales strategy to drive organizational growth and market positioning through the leadership of a structured team of Business Development professionals to accomplish the following:
- Schedule and complete client development activities (sales process) to generate new identified project opportunities and move those projects between the stages in the S&BD process:
- Consult with internal and external resources to evaluate client requirements and develop a comprehensive project proposal to ensure client satisfaction and completion of customer projects
- Steer presentation development; work with Subject Matter Expert(s), Marketing, and leadership team on content development. Provide recommendations regarding improving proposal and presentation materials for winning of new business opportunities.
- Evaluate project RFP opportunities for alignment with Division and company strategy, coordinate pursuit activities with Marketing, and assist the Division in preparing RFP responses
- Create and update client account plans that include activities to drive growth and demonstrate client advocacy and leadership on assigned accounts (i.e., pursuit & shaping, market trends, research client capital plans, track opportunities, understand client priorities, etc.)
- Utilize personal network of industry professionals including clients, team partners, and subject matter experts to augment RINA’s current network and provide additional source of industry knowledge, talent, and opportunity identification
- Maintain relevant data in CRM as the repository for all clients, opportunities, and client interactions
- Meet or exceed net sales targets (booked work under contract) established during various business planning efforts throughout the year
- Enhance brand visibility in the NAM market through networking, promotional activities, and participating in conferences and exhibitions that support the development of activities to generate new identified projects and move those projects between the stages in the S&BD process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance Management or related field
- 10+ years of experience in technical consulting for Transportation and/or Infrastructure engineering projects,
- 5+ years of experience in business development or commercial sales role.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing a sales or business development team, including the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
- National recognition as an expert in the field of transportation as evidenced by involvement in leading industry organizations
- In-depth understanding of North America Infrastructure & Mobility market, including trends, challenges and emerging opportunities with the ability to anticipate industry shifts and translate them into actionable strategies that position RINA as a market leader.
- A well-established network of professionals, clients, and partners in the infrastructure and mobility sectors, enabling you to identify opportunities, partnerships, and industry intelligence.
- Comfortable working closely with internal stakeholders, including Marketing, Subject Matter Experts, and senior leadership, to drive the development of compelling presentations and proposals that resonate with clients and secure new business.
- Strong knowledge of State DOT, Tollway, city and municipal infrastructure projects, preferably in IL, WI, OH, MA, and TX
- Familiarity with CRM systems to track and manage client interactions, opportunities, and sales activities, ensuring effective follow-up and strategic decision-making.
